Howdy, Folks! Gotta tell ya, this next show's got us downright giddy. A modern day Pow-Wow is the only way to describe the ensuing scene...
The bands that are bringin it:
Hailing from Tallahassee by way of Thomasville, Georgia, is Jane Jane Pollock. As a selection for Radio 1190's CD of the month club, the station best describes their sound as a "haunting mix of harmoniums and horns to immerse you in their unique sounds... using instruments like ukelele, banjo and even pots and pans to highlight their knack for building upon their genre-bending sound". Pretty nifty stuff, eh? Not surprisingly, they'll be doing an 1190 OpenAir session the day after the show.
Hitting the ol' dusty trail to join the party in the Ubi Room once again are the dudes of Eye and the Arrow. If you could order their sound at a bar, it'd be a Western Style Folk with a shot of Indie Rock. Or perhaps the other way around... Either way, these guys put on one hell of a show. Get familiar with 'em when they bust out some tunes on 1190's Local Shakedown the day of the show.
Boom.
